super automatic expresso machines

so my saeco super automatic espresso machine broke. the grinder spins but it seems like the beans are just being thrown into the case. i'll have to call to hopefully get it repaired. i loved that espresso machine, very simple. its only $350 at walmart right now too.

I did buy a replacement. i got the Krups xp 7260 which so far seems neat. i just made one test espresso but it was too late to drink it. i did have a sip and it was pretty superb. it has a neat lcd screen and is fairly configurable. there is also an auto milk frother so i dont have to waste my time getting the perfect froth. it just does it all for me like magic, i like magic. The Krups is also a bit smaller and looks a bit better on the counter than "the beast".

The cleaning schedule does sound rigorous, but i'm hoping that it doesnt stop functioning if i dont clean it right away since its expensive to clean it.

The Candy Man Can

So I love to cook. But lately i've been bored or something with cooking, maybe its having less time that has done it to me. But one thing i've decided i want to perfect is making flavored chocolate and maybe candies.

A while back i was given a dark chocolate bar with thyme that was bought in spain from xocho or something like that. It was amazing. I decided that i want to try to recreate that.

One thing i need to learn to do first is tempering chocolate correctly. I gave it one try and i completely messed up. The first time i seized the chocolate (first time that has EVER happend to me). Then i tried again and did not quite get it correct.

But i will keep trying and hopefully get it right.

The other thing i decided to do was see if i could make some caramel creme since it sounds so easy to make. Turns out that it was very easy to make and tastes great too. I just need to get some more technique on it and i'll bet it turns out great. then maybe i can put the two together and make some great caramel chocolate treats.

long winded

it occurred to me that i have gotten to the stage in my life where everything cannot be accurately described in semi-nonsensical 160 character snippets.

hence i decided that i should write stuff down on one of my many blogs. but which one?

well google's is easiest so i decided to reclaim this old test of blogger and hit the blogging craze sweeping over america.

Its amazing that i have any advice to proffer or that anybody could learn anything from what i say, but still, people seem to somehow, sometimes.
